This bowl fluoresces green under UV light indicating the presence of Manganese dioxide in the glass. Antique glass manufacturers used mangamese dioxide in their glass production.

Jefferson Glass Company opalescent blue pedestal bowl with a grape and vine pattern. Characterized by an icy blue colour with a white opalescent rim and a ruffled, scalloped edge. Produced in Steubenville, Ohio, between 1900 and 1907, these bowls are considered antique Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG).
